SCUBAfrique is a vibrant and friendly PADI 5* Instructor Development Centre situated on the outskirts of Cape Town. You will find our base at the picturesque Blue Rock Adventure Park, in between the two coastal towns of Gordon’s Bay and Somerset west.
Our location boasts a private 10 hectare fresh water lake ranging in depth between 1 and 55 metres, with training grids at various depths, on site classroom, fully stocked dive shop, bar and restaurant. There are plenty of activities even for the non-diver such as wakeboarding, zip-lining, volleyball, paintball and much more.

All of our Teaching Staff have completed the rigorous training to certify as PADI Instructors and are all high quality and safety orientated. We all have a passion for the sport and love changing lives, with SCUBA diving, which we do in English, Afrikaans, French or Dutch. We have a wide variety of quality equipment configurations available, which are all well maintained.

No problem, we run daily free introductions at our base. On the free introduction you will actually experience how wonderful it is to be able to breathe underwater, under the supervision of one of our PADI instructors.
After the free introduction you can sign up for one of our PADI beginner courses, which we teach in small groups and with plenty of personal attention.
SCUBAfrique DIVE Academy, being a PADI 5 * IDC centre, runs at least 2 Instructor Development courses a year, but we do schedule them on demand.
During summer we mainly dive the sites around Gordon's Bay going up to Rooi Els. Altough we have been known to explore the wrecks of the Atlantic site too.
Wintertime diving happens mainly on the other side of False Bay with Simonstown being the most popular dive spot. For more info on any of out divesites please click the Dive Sites link above.
Once you are a trained diver, we have a friendly, active dive club for you to enjoy. The variety of activities ranges from local daily dive outings, to weekends and weeks away plus many social evenings for you to bring along your non diving partners and friends to enjoy.
Our travel department offers both domestic and International travel destinations for divers and non divers to the most popular holiday resorts Worldwide. We have computer linked systems in store, to connect to a wide range of travel locations. We specialise in travel to all the Southern African highlights like Sodwana, Mozambique, Madagascar and Mauritius. Trips that every diver must experience.
